Course Description :

This subject examines nursing care using a holistic approach with specific emphasis on the utilization of the nursing care process through clinical practice and advanced technology for the critically ill patient

 
General Objectives :

The training program enables trainees to gain knowledge in adult critical care nursing and develop nursing skills in caring the critically ill by using nursing model.

 
Specific Objectives :
The trainees will be able to :
  • Identify pathophysiological and psychological changes in the critical ill.
  • Utilize advanced technology and instruments to provide appropriate nursing care for the critical ill.
  • Provide effective nursing care for the critically ill through the nursing process.
  • Be efficient consultants in adult critical care nursing.
  • Take a lead in the development of adult critical nursing.

Adult Critical Care Nursing Practicum
 

Credits :           5 credits

 
Course Description :
This subject examines the holistic approach to nursing care utilizing the nursing process through clinical practice and advance technology for the critical ill.
 
General Objectives :
The training program enables trainees to gain knowledge in adult critical care nursing  and develop nursing skills in caring for the critically ill by using nursing model
 
Specific Objectives :
The trainees will be able to :
  1. Identify pathophysiological and psychological changes in the critical ill.
  2. Utilize advanced technology and instruments to provide appropriate nursing care for  
    the critical ill.
  3. Provide effective nursing care for the critically ill through the nursing process.
  4. Be effient consultants in adult critical care nursing.
  5. Take a lead in the development of adult critical nursing.
  6. Perform the tasks morally and ethically.
Learning Activities :
  1. Develop the nursing care plan using nursing theory and nursing process 1 plan / patient / week
  2. Conduct the nursing round once a week
  3. Conduct the nursing conference in area of interest every Friday 08:00 a.m -03:00 p.m
    (1 case/group/week)
  4. Clinical teaching will be held in each ward.
